About Level 3 Award CiAM

The Level 3 Award in Automotive Management is a Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ). The programme is flexible in its duration and methods of delivery. The Award comprises of three Units of study all of which can be delivered using a range of direct and remote methods.

Managers recently appointed to their first role in automotive management.

People working in operational roles such as vehicle technicians, vehicle sales executives, parts specialists, etc. who aspire to a position in management.

The Level 3 Award is open to managers and aspiring managers of all disciplines working in the automotive industry and to managers working in industry associated organisations.

This qualification will provide you with the knowledge and understanding with which to demonstrate the fundamental skills of management in practise in the workplace.

Candidates completing the Level 3 Award may carry 9 qualifying credits forward from their level 3 programme to count towards their level 4 Certificate in Automotive Management.

To achieve your Award in Automotive Management you are required to earn 9 credit points in total.

The programme comprises of three units of learning and study with each successfully completed unit earning 3 credits.

The three units of study address key matters of management:

Unit 1 establishes the principles, attitudes and skills of professional management in the automotive industry.
Unit 2 opens up the issues of planning, organising and controlling business operations and managing people, setting in place the foundations for the key functions of management
Unit 3 introduces the fundamentals of work, processes and procedures essential to efficient and profitable operations in automotive management

This qualification also provides a broad overview of the work-place, including organisational structures, departmental relationships, health and safety and legal frameworks.

Candidates must demonstrate their knowledge and ability of management at Level 3 completing a short answer assessment and a multiple-choice question paper for each of the three units.

To achieve your Level 3 Award in Automotive Management you will study the curriculum contents and complete a structured assignment and an on-line test paper for each unit.

A Level 3 Award in Automotive Management is typically achieved in approximately fifteen weeks, however this will vary according to the time plan you agree with your programme director at the start of your programme.
