Ofqual Standards in Automotive Qualifications
The qualifications we offer are approved by and registered with The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) a non-ministerial government department that regulates qualifications, exams and tests in England
Ofqual regulates exams, qualifications and tests in England; the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is also accredited by Ofqual. Northern Ireland, and Wales are regulated by each respective national government. Ofqual works closely with the UK government, the Department for Education and with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on vocational qualifications including VRQs to set and maintain standards for nationally recognised qualifications.
The Institute of the Motor Industry
The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is the Awarding Body who, through determine the qualification structures and control the qualification standards. The IMI is also the Sector Skills Council; the Council comprises of experts from automotive manufacturers, retail groups and training providers, all of whom contribute to set the standards and the structures of the qualification programmes and fully support the need to prepare up-skill and recognise motor industry managers and their teams.
